NDMTSS - Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Tier 2 - Supplemental Support System (2023-2024) [Multi-Day Series] [Flyer]

Wednesday, March 20, 2024 8:30 AM - Thursday, March 21, 2024 3:30 AM (CDT)

Description

PRE-REQUISITE:  This series is for school teams who have previously completed NDMTSS Developing Schoolwide Behavior Expectations / NDMTSS Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Tier 1.  If your team has NOT previously completed NDMTSS Building Your System, you may register for this fall's cohort which begins on October 16th here.  Additionally, schools must have a Benchmarks of Quality (BoQ) score above 70.

REGISTRATION: This professional learning series requires completion of an MOU signed by the building administrator. When clicking "Register" you'll be directed to the MOU for completion. The MOU then needs to be sent to Brandie Ulland, SEEC, Brandie.Ulland@k12.nd.us to officially complete your team's registration.

Tier 2 practices stem from a strong foundation of Tier 1 support. The focus is on supporting students who are at risk for developing more serious problem behavior before they start. Essentially, the support at this level is more focused than Tier 1 and less intensive than Tier 3. With school-wide systems in place, schools are able to identify which students need additional support. Tier 2 supports build on the lessons provided at Tier 1 and may prevent the need for more intensive interventions. Tier 2 supports are provided to small groups or students with similar needs, offering more time and/or detailed instructions on the core curriculum.

Objectives:

  • Identify students who would need or benefit from Tier 2 instructional services and related supports based on an analysis of Tier 1 data
  • Select and analyze appropriate sources and types of behavioral data to develop and test hypotheses about variables influencing the Tier 2 problem
  • Select evidence-based standard-protocol interventions for use at the Tier 2 level based on analysis of hypotheses, match student need to treatment provided, and evaluate effectiveness of interventions used
