Description
Assist your school in meeting the criteria of the legislative mandate for mental health professional development in a meaningful manner with the Trauma Sensitive Schools: A New Perspective on Student Behavior and Learning curriculum. This curriculum is a composition of five modules related to trauma; how trauma manifests in the classroom; the neurobiology of trauma and resilience; effective strategies to assist students experiencing the effects of trauma; understanding secondary effects of trauma; and creating a trauma-informed school culture. Trauma Sensitive Schools was created and disseminated in partnership with PATH, the Central Region Education Association, and the Department of Public Instruction. For questions, contact Natalie Couture at natalie.couture@k12.nd.us. Graduate credit is available! Those who register for the Training of Trainers must be registered for the CREA iteration of the Trauma-Sensitive Schools Training the same year.
Objectives:
1. Deliver TSS curriculum with confidence,
